Every month I want to make sure to present what we've got going on on Patreon so you don't miss out on a theme that you'll really enjoy working on! Because my Patreon is seriously the best. It’s such an incredibly creative and motivating place. I adore creating the content for these groups the most. :) I really hope to see you there some day.
First up Collection Club:
If you're new around here and haven't heard of my Collection Club, it's a monthly membership on Patreon all about designing Surface Design Collections together around a specific popular theme. That's right I design along with you! We've already been around for over 2 years so by joining you'll not only get all the new content for this month but all the previous content since Dec 2022.
This month we will be designing Under the Sea themed collections together. You might think that Under the Sea only means one sort of style but it’s actually a really really versatile theme that can be designed in so many ways. I can’t wait to show you how.
Here are some dates to remember.
February 3rd: Under the Sea collection theme video published packed with inspiration and a look at my portfolio.
February 12th: Under the Surface theme video. Get started in teaching.
February 24th: Collections due.
February 26th: Prerecorded feedback session published.
Collection Club is a great fit for those of you who want to learn more, gain momentum, and get better at designing collections for your Surface Design portfolio and need the inspiration and motivation to do so on a monthly basis. We keep each other accountable with deadlines and have the opportunity to cheer each other on and give feedback on our collections throughout the month on a private virtual bulletin board. It’s a gorgeous growing and supportive community and I am so proud of seeing how quickly Collection Club members are developing and getting better and better at designing each month. We would love to see you in the group too.

And now let’s take a look at Fun Friday:
Fun Friday is a new addition to my Patreon for 2024 and is more of a creative outlet and place to fine tune your drawing skills. Every month we work on a theme such as color, animals, people, value, still lives, landscapes etc with weekly drawing challenges, material deep dives and fun Draw with Me sessions. Since focusing on traditional art making again since 2020 I have really noticed a change in my digital art. I work quicker and freer, I use more gorgeous texture, I feel more creative, and am just having way more fun!
This month we are going to be drawing an under the sea theme each week which should be fun and a great compliment to Collection Club if you are a member of both.
Here are some important dates to look out for.
Every Monday a simple drawing challenge is posted. Starting February 3rd. One new under the sea image or theme to focus on for the week.
February 7th: How I’m approaching drawing and painting under the sea motifs.
February 14th: Perspective.
February 21st: Draw with Me! prerecorded. Let’s draw and under/over under the sea image.
February 28th: February Sketchbook Look and recap.
